Accessing ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst in a Dashboard
Let's open an example dashboard from the All Reports Menu.
Select a Dashboard.
Take a look around the dashboard and see what questions you have, that are not currently shown in the visualizations.
When you hover over a visualization several icons appear in the top right.
To have a conversation about a visualization, select the ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst icon.
By clicking the ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst button, we can begin a conversation with AI Analyst, using the selected dashboard visualization as the starting point.
The conversation will build on top of the underlying data and ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst will create new answers based on our questions.
Note
We can see the “More" menu icon, which is an ellipsis with 3 dots.
From here you still have the option to use the Explorer, directly from any visualization, by selecting Explorer from the dropdown.
Having a Conversation about a Dashboard Visualization
In a dashboard, when we click the ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst icon on a visualization, it opens the conversation window.
ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst is ready to build analysis on top of this specific visualization.
The original chart shows total daily sales for all channels last month, let's find the top 3 channels by Revenue.
ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst acknowledges your request with a summary, then it tells you exactly what it changed to arrive at the new answer.
Let's follow up with another question, such as show the month over month (month on month) revenue for the last 2 years.
Next let's ask a more complex question and ask for the percentage change by channel for 2023 and 2024. To ask an unambiguous question we'll phrase this as "Remove all metrics and just show me the % change in revenue by channel for 2023 vs 2024"
To find this answer ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst added a formula, which is indicated by the formula icon in the percentage change in sales token. Since percent change isn't in the data source ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst has created the formula required to calculate it.
In fact, to determine the answer ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst created 3 formulas. let's click edit to open the answer and take a deeper look
ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst created formulas for revenue 2023, revenue 2024 and percent change in revenue.
If we select the “percent change in revenue” formula, we can see the formula in the data panel.
To return to the ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst conversation we can click “discard changes” at the bottom, "Done editing" if we want to keep any changes we made.
We could then continue asking follow up questions and/or editing ASK BOSCO® AI Analysts answers.
Pinning the Result to a New Dashboard
For interesting insights, you want to keep, you can also pin to a dashboard.
Using the ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst window makes it easy to chat with ASK BOSCO® AI Analyst from dashboard visualizations.
