Introduction to Dashboards

A dashboard is a collection of visualizations, reports and KPIs that display key business metrics in a single, interactive view. Dashboards you create can be found under My Reports in the Reports tab. Publicly shared dashboards can be found in the All Reports tab.

Working with Report Builder

The Report Builder allows you to design individual reports with various data sources, metrics and visualizations for you to add to your dashboard.

  1. Choose your data source
Select the data source (e.g. AI Dataset for all channels data, Paid Search Core for all paid search data, Organic Search). To change the source, click the next to Sources, select the source and & click Done when finished.
    Sources selection
  2. Select Metrics
The dataset fields will be displayed down the left hand side. Click to select the metrics you need and double click on the metric to add it to your visualizationAlternatively, you can use the search bar to find columns

or start typing the name of the metric in the top "Search" bar and options will appear. Press Go when you have selected your metrics.
  3. Add Filters
To filter a metric you can hover over it in the list on the left hand side and a filter symbol will appear
Clicking this will reveal the options to include or exclude data. Use the search bar to type phrases that represent your filter eg "last month" to filter by date, "Channel = 'ppc' " for a channel.
  4. Aggregate Metrics
Depending on how you want to show your data, you may want to choose how you want to aggregate your metrics by using prompts such as "Sum Cost" or "Average Revenue" . Please see here for a list of aggregation options.
  5. Pin to dashboard:
Click Pin to pin your visualisation to a new or existing dashboard.
If this is your first dashboard, ASK BOSCO® will create a new dashboard for you. If not, you'll see a drop down menu of all your dashboards where you can choose which dashboard and tab to add to.
  6. Add more tiles
You can continue to construct your dashboard adding more visualizations created in report builder.

The following demo shows Report Builder in action which you can step through below or you can view it here.

Copying Existing Reports

This is a great way to customize the pre-built reports in ASK BOSCO®. Navigate to the report you'd like to edit, select the 3 dots in the top-right corner and select make a copy & name your report.

You will now be able to use the three dots in the top-right corner of each tile to edit each visualization. This will take you to a similar interface to the report builder.

At this point, you can modify the included metrics, the visualizations, and the filters.
